AFFIRMING OUR FAITH (26)
From Ephesians 4 (variant)

We believe in one God and Father of us all;
who is over all, and through all,
and in all.

We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
one faith, one baptism,
amd one hope to which we are called.

We believe in one Holy Spirit,
and one body, the church,
united in the bond of peace. Amen.

AFFIRMING OUR FAITH (27)
From Philippians 2

Let us affirm our faith in Jesus Christ the Son of God:

Though he was divine,
he did not cling to equality with God,
but made himself nothing.
Taking the form of a slave,
he became as we are;
as a man he humbled himself,
and was obedient to death -
even the death of the cross.
Therefore God has raised him on high,
and given him the name above every name:
that at the name of Jesus
every knee should bow,
and every voice proclaim
that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father. Amen.

AFFIRMING OUR FAITH (28)
From Philippians 2 (variant)

Did Christ Jesus share the very nature of God?
He did!

Did he make himself nothing, taking the very nature of a slave?
He did!

Did he humble himself, becoming obedient to death - even the death on a cross?
He did!

Has God exalted him to the highest place of all and given him the name that is above every name?
He has!

Will every knee bow to him, in heaven, on earth and under the earth?
They will!

And will every tongue confess that 'Jesus Christ is Lord'?

We shall:
Jesus Christ is Lord! Amen.

AFFIRMING OUR FAITH (29)
From Philippians 2
(Getting gradually quieter:)

Equal with God:
Jesus is Lord.
Emptied himself:
Jesus is Lord.
Came as a slave:
Jesus is Lord.
Found as a man:
Jesus is Lord.
Humbly obeyed:
Jesus is Lord.
Went to his death:
Jesus is Lord.
Death on a cross:
Jesus is Lord.

(Getting gradually louder:)
God raised him up:
Jesus is Lord.
Gave him the name:
Jesus is Lord.
Higher than all:
Jesus is Lord.
Every knee bow:
Jesus is Lord.
All tongues confess:
"Jesus is Lord!".

Glory to God! Amen!

AFFIRMING OUR FAITH (30)
From Philippians 3

Do we belong to heaven?
We do!

Are we waiting for the Saviour to come from there?
We are!

Who is he?
Jesus Christ, the Lord!

Can his power bring all things under his control?
It can!

Will he transform our humble bodies to be like his glorious body?
He will!

Alleluia! Amen!
