AFFIRMING OUR FAITH (41) - Healing
From Titus 2 and 3

The grace of God has dawned upon us with healing for all the world, and so we rejoice to declare our faith in him:

We believe in God the Father,
who has revealed his love
and kindness to us,
and in his mercy saved us,
not for any good deed of our own.
but because he is merciful.

We believe in Jesus Christ,
who gave himself up for us
to free us from our sin,
and set us apart for himself -
a people eager to do good.

We believe in the Holy Spirit,
whom God poured out on us generously
through Christ our saviour,
so that justified by grace
we might become heirs
with the hope of eternal life. Amen.

AFFIRMING OUR FAITH (42) - Baptism
From Titus 3

Let us declare our faith in God's salvation:

We believe in God who saved us
not because of good things we have done,
but because of his mercy.
God saved us
through the washing of rebirth
and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
who he poured out on us generously
through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
so that justified by his grace,
we might become heirs
with the hope of eternal life.

This is a trustworthy saying. Amen.

AFFIRMING OUR FAITH (43) - Christmas
From Hebrews 1

God who spoke to our ancestors through the prophets
many times and in many ways,
in these last days has spoken to us by his Son,
whom he appointed heir of all things,
through whom he made the worlds:

The Son is the radiance of God's glory,
the likeness of God's being;
he sustains all things by his powerful word;
he achieved the forgiveness of sins
and sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. Amen.

AFFIRMING OUR FAITH (44) - Lent
Hebrews 4

Let us hold firmly to the faith we profess:

We have a great High Priest,
in the very presence of God
Jesus, God's Son:
he can feel sympathy with our weakness;
for he was tempted in every way that we are,
but did not sin.

AFFIRMING OUR FAITH (45) - Easter
From 1 Peter 1

Let us proclaim our faith:

We believe in God the Father,
by whose great mercy
we have been born again
to a living hope,
through the resurrection
of Jesus Christ from the dead.

We believe in God the Son,
who died for our sin,
and rose again for our justification.

We believe in God the Holy Spirit,
who bears witness with our spirit
that we are the children of God.

We believe in one God:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
