From 1 John 1
O God,
you have taught us
that if we say we have no sin
we deceive ourselves
and the truth is not us:
we humbly confess our sins to you;
and we ask you to keep your promise
to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
