Geoff Twigg

Born at Nuneaton, Warwickshire, in 1951, Geoff studied at London University's Goldsmith's College in South East London, and became a Fellow of Trinity College of Music, training under John Tavener for whom he also worked.

A freelance musician and writer, worship leader and teacher, Geoff won major secular awards including the Royal Philharmonic Society Prize, and became music advisor to the Bishop of Ely.

Geoff Twigg’s published compositions include a setting of the shorter 'Gloria' (in 'Songs from the Psalms', 1990) and 'Lord, help me to know your presence' (words and music, from 1993). He served on the editorial group for 'Let's Praise 2' (1994). He also toured the United States with fellow members of the Jubilate Hymns group.

In 1994 Geoff became Minister of Worship in an Evangelical Free Church in Pennsylvania, and subsequently held various positions in music and worship ministry in churches and colleges in New Hampshire and later in Illinois where he studied at North Park Theological Seminary and was ordained in 2014. In 2016 he became Senior Pastor at Silverdale Church, a Brethren in Christ congregation in Pennsylvania, and died of a heart attack in 2018 at the age of 64. He is survived by his wife Vicki and three children.
