1 A babe was born on Christmas morn,
revealing heaven's glory,
as angel throngs sang joyful songs
of incarnation's story:
'Christ, Christ, the Lord of all,
you'll find him in a cattle stall.
Peace, peace, to earth has come
in David's town this morning.'

2 The shepherds, cowed, in terror bowed,
appalled at heaven's glory,
yet, in the dust, they came to trust
that incarnation story:
'Christ, Christ, the Lord of all,
you'll find him in a cattle stall.
Peace, peace, to earth has come
in David's town this morning.'

3 In Bethlehem, of Jesse's stem,
beholding heaven's glory,
the child they saw among the straw
he, incarnation's story':
'Christ, Christ, the Lord of all,
you'll find him in a cattle stall.
Peace, peace, to earth has come
in David's town this morning.'

4 Now growing bold, their news they told,
describing heaven's glory,
for all around, amazed, they found,
at incarnation's story:
'Christ, Christ, the Lord of all,
you'll find him in a cattle stall.
Peace, peace, to earth has come
in David's town this morning.'

5 So now we sing of David's king,
ascribing heaven's glory,
and praise the name of him who came
as incarnation's story:
'Christ, Christ, the Lord of all,
you'll find him in a cattle stall.
Peace, peace, to earth has come
in David's town this morning.'
