1 Come and tread the pathway
walk this road again,
stone and step and valley,
city, hill and plain:
this is where his feet have trod,
here was found the way of God.

2 Come and see the people,
pressing at the door,
thronging on the hillside,
crowding by the shore:
sights that once supremely moved
him who came and saw and loved.

3 Come and hear the accents,
town and country talk,
cry and laugh and greeting;
listen as we walk:
this is where his voice was heard,
here God spoke one crowning word.

4 Walk and look and listen
in our streets today,
sharing in the story,
learning how to say,
here among us Christ has come,
God with us, our Friend, our Home.
