Come, hear the Gospel word

1 Come, hear the Gospel word,
the truth of God made plain;
sing Hallelujah, praise the Lord!
Dry bones are risen again!

2 By field and tent and inn
God brings his plans to be,
and makes a stable, hall, or mine
fulfil his sure decree.

3 And God who makes things new
has given this open door;
a time to build, a time to grow
and trust our Saviour more.

4 Come, wonder at the Tree;
no leaf it bears, nor fruit,
but carries our iniquity
in Christ, our substitute.

5 Come tremble by his grave;
the stone is rolled away!
He came to serve, he died to save;
raised up, he lives today.

6 Come, meet the Saviour here,
for he will not condemn;
repent, believe, in faith and fear,
and learn to love his name.

7 Enjoy this meeting-place,
and do not count it strange
if God who gives unchanging grace
requires his church to change.

8 Lord God, this house is yours;
may we your people be
renewed in Christ with all our powers
for Christ eternally.
