Come, most Holy Spirit, come
1 Come, most holy Spirit, come!
and from your celestial home
Shed a ray of light divine;
come, O Father of the poor,
faithful advocate and sure,
let your radiance in us shine.
2 Heal our wounds, our strength renew;
on our dryness send your dew,
wash the stains of guilt away;
bend the stubborn heart and will,
melt the frozen, warm the chill,
guide the steps that go astray.
3 Send upon us from above
fruits of joy and peace and love,
gentleness, humility:
faithfulness and self-control,
goodness, kindness fill the soul
give us true nobility.
4 On the faithful, who adore
and confess you, ever more
in your grace and power descend;
grant your kingdom's sure reward,
grant us your salvation, Lord,
grant us joys that never end.
