For the gift of life on waking

For the gift of life on waking,
coloured sunrise at day's breaking,
for all beauty of your making,
we will praise your name, O God.

For the wonder of creation,
for the free gift of salvation,
for each cause of jubilation,
we will praise your name, O God.

For the friends and loved-ones round us,
for the mercies that surround us,
for the love that sought and found us,
we will praise your name, O God.

For the sound of voices raising
hymns and songs of joyful praising
as they sing of grace amazing,
we will praise your name, O God.

For your reconciliation,
for the sinner's transformation,
for your word - our sure foundation,
we will praise your name, O God.

For your love which lasts forever
and which binds our lives together
in a friendship none can sever,
we will praise your name, O God.
