Give God thanks for Christ's appearing
out of unknown Nazareth;
truth's own witness, nothing fearing,
overcoming fear and death.
Give God thanks for Christian action
when the church is lost in thought,
working for God's coming kingdom,
knowing that the time is short.
Give God thanks for Christian prophets,
voices raised across the earth,
urging amnesty for prisoners,
justice for each child from birth.
Give God thanks for Christ's disciples
joining with the powers-that-be,
bringing hope to those left homeless,
people trapped in poverty.
Give God praise and great thanksgiving
that the Spirit of his Son,
present in creation's striving,
shall perfect all that's been done.
