God who created light
1 God who created light
from his commanding height,
his voice was heard.
Through sky and sea and earth,
labouring, came to birth,
sign of eternal worth,
life through God's word.
2 Christ who was born to save,
standing at Lazarus' grave,
his voice was heard.
He who had healed the lame,
called to the dead by name,
and from the tomb there came
life through God's word.
3 Spirit whose mighty power
surges through every hour,
his voice is heard.
Strong as the wind he blows,
swift as a torrent flows,
and to the church bestows
life through God's word.

4 He who is three-in-one,
God Father, Spirit, Son
his voice is heard.
To him our hearts we raise,
singing our hymns of praise,
sharing, in all our ways,
life through God's word.
