1 Great the wonder, great the mystery
which appeared in human body:
by the Spirit vindicated,
seen by angels, heard by nations,
in this world believed in, lifted
high in clouds of heaven's glory.
2 Here is truth and found trustworthy:
suffering with him and dying,
with him we shall rise and triumph;
if we scorn him, he will scorn us;
faithless, we shall find him faithful
who cannot deny his glory.
3 One we bless, above all blessing,
Name of names, Wonder of wonders,
Power and love and breath immortal
deep in light we cannot fathom,
God beyond all earthly vision,
whom to know is all our glory.
