I love you, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer;
you make me strong, I trust in you always.
You are my shield, the hope of my salvation;
I cry to you, and offer you my praise.
1 The seas of death their torrents overwhelm me;
in my perplexity I call upon the Lord;
and from your heaven you hear my voice and answer me,
and, reaching down, you save me by your word.

2 The mountains shake they tremble at your anger,
like burning coals, your fire consumes the skies;
you tear the clouds, the lightning strikes your enemies,
you guide me in your ways and make me wise.

3 My Saviour lives his mercy has delivered me,
he raised me up to this exalted place;
I worship him who lets me share his victories
and evermore will follow me with grace.
