1 I never looked for Jesus;
praise God, he looked for me!
By the blinding sin that held me in
I could never truly see.
2 I paid no heed to Jesus;
he paid in full for me.
To release a slave his life he gave
and he bought my liberty.
3 I spent no love on Jesus;
he spent his blood for me:
for the source of love is God above
and it meant his agony.
4 I had no time for Jesus;
he made the time for me:
and he shows me how to serve him now
and enjoy eternity.
5 I have no claims on Jesus
but he has claims on me;
and his greatest claim is still the same
as it was on Calvary.
