Into our world from God he came

1 Into our world from God he came,
Jesus of Nazareth his name,
To tread our streets, to share our life,
To taste its happiness and strife.

2 God's power was in his Son to heal,
To bring fresh hope and make men whole;
In temple court and market place
He spoke of freedom, faith and grace.

3 He set the devil's ways aside
And stayed with suffering till he died.
He spread the news throughout the land,
'Repent, the Kingdom is at hand!'
