Let me now depart in peace

1 'Let me now depart in peace,
to my passing reconciled
thankful, e'er my life should cease,
to have seen the holy Child.

2 'Jesus, hope of every nation,
dawn of God's eternal Day:
set to offer men salvation,
he Himself shall light the way.

3 'Lord, Your servants long have waited,
trusting You to keep Your word:
now our faith is vindicated
for these eyes have seen the Lord!'
