Long before Abraham,
greater than Jacob,
fulfiller of Moses,
true end of the law;
wiser than Solomon,
buried like Jonah,
and his is the day
which glad Abraham saw !
Praise to our pioneer,
life-giving water,
our passover, glory
and true living bread;
wisdom once crucified,
risen from darkness,
so this is the day
of Christ Jesus our Head !
