O Lord, you know my mind (In your name I rejoice)
1 O Lord, you know my mind
each hidden corner there you find;
you know each secret thought and deed.
You are everywhere, all - seeing,
you have formed my inner being,
you perceive my every need.
In your name I rejoice,
I know you hear my voice,
I will put my trust in you.
You are Lord, you are King,
set above everything:
I will praise you, for all your ways are true
Lord, lead me in the way everlasting.
2 If on morning's wings I soar,
or settle on some distant shore,
your hand will guide me even there.
If I seek the depths of night,
to you the darkness is as light:
your hand will hold me in your care.
Chorus
3 There is nowhere I can hide
you are around, in front, beside me;
there is nowhere I can flee.
Though such knowledge is too grand
for such as me to understand
you stretched out your right hand to me.
Chorus
4 O Lord, you know my heart
for you created me, each part:
examine me and know my ways.
If I any way offend,
then, Lord, assist me to amend
that I may offer worthy praise.
