Send me in peace upon my way (Nunc Dimittis)

Send me in peace upon my way,
my tasks, Lord, finished for the day:
this day I shall remember long,
the day salvation kindled song.

My song is of the Morning Star
which lightens Gentiles from afar;
whose nearer shafts distinctly tell
the glory of God's Israel.

Give praise and glory, then, with me
to God the Holy Trinity!
Of whom creation makes its boast:
the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
