1 They are happy whose way is pure,
Who keep God's laws, obey His will!
Seeking always to know their Lord,
They gladly follow Him!

You gave precepts that we might walk
With footsteps firm, and unashamed;
I will thank You and learn Your laws
O do not cast me away!

2 Young men seeking an upright way
Must guard themselves, and heed Your word!
Let me steadfastly learn Your laws
That keep me free from sin!

Teach Your statutes to me O Lord,
And with my lips I'll make them known;
More than riches I love Your word
Your word I will not forget!

3 Lord now open my eyes to see
Some wondrous thing within Your law!
As a stranger upon the earth
I hunger for Your word!

Proud men suffer Your holy wrath
Your word they shun; remove their scorn.
Though the mighty may scheme against me
I rejoice in Your word!

4 They are happy whose way is pure,
Who keep God's law - obey His will!
Seeking always to know their Lord,
They wholly follow Him!
