This is the truth which we proclaim
1 This is the truth which we proclaim,
God makes a promise firm and sure;
marked by this sign made in his name,
here, for our sickness, God's own cure.
2 This is the grave in which we lie:
dead to a world of sin and shame
raised with our Lord, to self we die
and live to praise God's holy name.
3 This is the sacrament of birth:
sealed by a Saviour's death for sin,
trust in his mercy all on earth,
open your hearts and let him in!
4 This is the covenant of grace
God to the nations shows his love;
people of every tribe and race,
born by his Spirit from above.
5 This is the badge we proudly wear:
washed by our God, the Three - in - One;
welcomed in fellowship, we share
hope of eternal life begun.
