1 To Cana's wedding feast
there comes a welcome guest,
the couple's truest friend;
then does God's glory shine
the water changed to wine
by Christ, for whom they send.
2 Christ comes, as we rejoice,
as partners make their choice
and kneel in church to pray;
Christ comes to speak his word
more joyful never heard:
'God joins your lives today'.
3 'In sickness and in health,
in poverty and wealth,
till death shall part at length':
to keep this solemn vow
may they discover now
God's inner grace and strength.
4 One flesh, one mutual joy,
one holy mystery,
reflecting Christ's own love;
one home secure and strong
and crowned with children's song,
a gift from God above.
5 With reverence we acclaim
the splendour of God's name,
the glorious Trinity:
may we who worship, know
as on our way we go
the Christ of Galilee!
