After Psalm 23

1 What a shepherd, what a Saviour
I have found you, Lord, to be.
What a price you paid as ransom
on the cross, to set me free!

2 I will never lack refreshment:
For you tend me, like a sheep
and revive me in green pastures,
where the water's cool and deep.

3 Shall I lack a hand to guide me?
I'm restored and led by you
into paths of faithful justice,
proving that your name is true.

4 Source of ever-present comfort!
You can pierce my darkest hour
to dispel my bleak forebodings
and protect me by your power.

5 I shall never lack provision,
though my troubles may increase,
for the feast you spread before me
overflows with joy and peace.

6 Jesus, as your love and goodness
Spur me on through fleeting days
till I dwell with you for ever,
may you never lack my praise!

Alternative Version (also by Emma Turl)

1 What a Shepherd, what a Saviour
I have found you, Lord, to be -
what a price you paid as ransom
on the cross, to set me free!

2 I will never lack refreshment -
feeding in your pastures green,
resting when my soul is weary,
drinking from your quiet stream.

3 I will never lack your guidance -
you restore me when I stray
and you lead me, for your Name's sake,
in your true and righteous way.

4 I will never lack your comfort
even in my darkest hour,
for you promise to be with me
and protect me by your power.

5 I will never lack provision,
though my troubles may increase,
for in overflowing blessing
you supply your joy and peace.

6 I will never lack your presence,
for with goodness and with love
all my life you will surround me
till I dwell with you above.

7 What a Shepherd, what a Saviour,
Jesus Lamb of Calvary!
May you never lack my praises,
for you gave your life for me!
