You are coming, O my Saviour (Thou art coming, O my Saviour)
[Modernised Version]1 You are coming, O my Saviour,
you are coming, O my King,
in your beauty all-resplendent,
in your glory all-transcendent
well may we rejoice and sing:
coming! in the opening east
brighter shines your heavenly light;
coming! O my glorious Priest:
come in all your power and might!
2 You are coming, great Redeemer,
we shall meet you on your way;
we shall see you, we shall know you,
we shall bless you, we shall show you
all our hearts could never say:
there, enraptured by the view,
hearts and voices we will raise,
pouring out our love to you
in thanksgiving, worship, praise.
3 You are coming - at your table
we are witnesses for this;
with your love and grace you greet us,
in communion, Lord, you meet us
foretaste of our coming bliss:
showing not your death alone,
and your love so rich and great,
but your coming and your throne,
all for which we long and wait.
4 O the joy to see you reigning,
you, my own beloved Lord;
every tongue your name confessing
worship, honour, glory, blessing
brought to you with one accord:
you, my Master and my Friend,
vindicated and renowned;
to the earth's remotest end
glorified, adored and crowned!
