1 Praise to God the Father! God who saves his people,
rescues us from darkest powers and tyrannies of night,
brings us liberation by his Son, Christ Jesus,
who bears the likeness of immortal light.

2 Forces seen and unseen made in the beginning,
depths of spirit, heights of mind, and worlds in time and space:
all in Christ created, by and through and for him,
in Christ existing find in him their place.

3 Origin and First-born of the church, his body,
raised from death to be its Head in sovereignty alone:
God's full nature sharing, universe reclaiming,
peace-making Saviour praise to Christ the Son!
