From Psalm 51
O God, in your goodness have mercy on us, wash us clean from our guilt:
purify us from our sin.
We know our faults well:
our sins hang heavy upon us.
Against you only have we sinned:
we have done evil in your sight.
So you are right to judge us:
you are justified in condemning us.
Remove our sin and we will be clean:
wash us,
and we will be whiter than snow.
Hide your face from our sins:
wipe out all our guilt
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
