1 In the time of trial and testing,
God of Daniel, hear my prayer;
when the lions prowl and muster
grant me not to quail or fear.
Send your angel to protect me,
stop their mouths and tame their lust.
Keep me faithful, keep me serving;
Lord, in you I put my trust.

2 When the furnace of affliction
sears my soul, consumes my dreams;
when ambition, wealth and status
fall to Satan's wily schemes,
God of Daniel, hear my crying,
all I cherish falls to dust;
keep me faithful, keep me serving;
Lord, in you I put my trust.

3 When the day dawns fair and rosy,
when life's sea is calm and bright,
God of Daniel, I shall praise you,
lift your name to Heaven's height;
but through darkness, hurt or danger
teach me still to sing your praise;
Faithful One, God of the Ages,
keep me faithful all my days.
